The lad was born in Edinburgh and was educated there. We, Scots have a lot to answer for.

Do they care about the armenian massacre

I think the point is that maybe they should care. Obviously the Turks of today are not responsible for the misdeeds of their ancestors, but surely if Turkey is to reach maturity as a nation (with or without EU membership) they need at the very least to acknowledge the crimes of their Ottoman forebears. Whether compensation should be paid is another issue, but it definately seems that some genocide victims are more worthy than others.

So what's your point? Iran hates Israel and so does Noodles. Iran gets on with Saudi, so does Noodles. Saudi gets along with the US, and so does Israel, but Noodles does not, neither do the majority of Saudis. Get it?

the English should apologise for their dark role in the slave trade two centuries ago.

Piffle!!

No-one now alive was involved in those events.
Any expressed apology would be meaningless.
Not withstanding the fact that many Africans were also complicit in such acts.

You can hardly blame the Africans after years of domination for selling other competing tribes off to the Westerners. There was no value to selling people until people began to pay. This is more of your ridiculous mentality, the same that got you kicked out of Saudi Arabia I imagine. Only The Prodigy could conjure an argument whose inanity competes with his own worst nightmare.

While I'm by no means convinced of the wisdom of governments apologising for what their predecessors did decades or even centuries ago, your argument is a spurious one. There have always been - and always will be - certain individuals who are prepared to collaborate with their people's oppressors. Some Jews, Russians and Poles collaborated with the Nazis, some Irish people spied for the Brits, and yes, some Africans profitted from the slave trade. And your point is...?

Actually, The Noodles doesn't hate anyone! I do choose to air my political views through boycotting certain goods. I do not believe in the zionist cause, and I do believe that Turkey should be hel accountable for it's actions.

Hate is a strong word. Maybe the point I made earlier wasn't clear. I sometimes feel a little distant with Turkish people, even though I KNOW they are not to blame for their previos government's actions.

Do I blame them for not being aware of the problem... Well I don't know many Turks who don't know that there is an underlying tension between Armenians and themselves, surely in this day and age with the Internet, it wouldn't be impossible for them to look into the reasons why... Am I wrong. But the first step should be the Government making their people aware of their History. And no I don't think that because it's history we should simply move on. There are still victims of the genocide alive and i'm sure they'd find the idea of simply moving on and getting on with life an insult.

But who knows, I've been wrong before!

Queen of Sheba's fertile, febrile mind imagines all kinds of scenarios.

Unavoidable truth is The Kingdom represents a place with remarkably few things that provide stimulation.

Whether that be art, music, culture, food and drink, literature, places of natural beauty. It is easily understood how foreigners putting up with life in Riyadh exist so frugally. Nobody can blame them - a pragmatic, worthy lifestyle choice. A year was enough to make a reasonable judgement and leave.

Demanding apologies from persons not responsible for any action (whatever that might be) is another wholly illogical, unproductive expectation.

I see and denying it ever happened and not facing up to the truth is totally logical and reasonable.

Right, and it is the likes of The Prodigy, who was here one year, and is still foolish enough to dwell about it, who has given me this brain fever. If indeed it was so aweful, why are you so obsessed with Saudi, and all of us who have made a pleasant life for ourselves here? I dare you to answer a direct question rather than tossing insults, for once.

It is a foolish argument to want, expect folks in Africa to apologise.
Or anywhere, since those people were not involved.

If your grand-father insulted your neighbour, or broken the window of your neighbour, arent you going to apologise to your neighbour? Of course you would!

So, why the North Koreans got compensation from Japan's colonization. The Jews got compensation from the Germans.

So, I think, the Africans also, should get compensation as well an apology from USA and UK, like any other decent population who got their compensations.
The Africans countries did not colonise other countries, and did not create Holocausts, and did not create the slavery trade, they are clean like water!

It is about time that the USA and UK, learns to say "I am sorry" for their crimes of slavery and colonisation, and pay compensation.
