|
|
Hi,
Im currently in Poland but looking for a change of scene to Czech Republic. Anyone know of a way to get lists of schools (for Poland there is a Polish language Google search which throws up a list of language schools in a given city)? Or any web sites particularly good for jobs in Czech. Any tips much appreciated.
Cheers. |

Try expats.cz , that's probably your best bet right there. If you have experience and can do a demo lesson with ease, then you shouldn't have a problem finding work
FYI - I am aware that Poland tends to favor the Cannon method for teaching English. It might be wise to brush up on the communicative method as well as on major grammar concepts |

Hi EalingKev.
Yes, Expats.cz is an excellent source.
We reserve our job lists for our Trainees/Grads but to help you on your way I do know that Glossa school of languages are probably in need of teachers right now.
They have a leaflet out which reads:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Office Chief of Glossa
Prague, The Czech Republic
WANTED
LANGUAGE TEACHER
CZK 1 000,- REWARD
Have you met him/her? An intelligent, open-minded, communicative person proficient in a foreign language, a Czech or native speaker who would do a good job for a good language school? University degree, teacher training and experience are welcome, however, we can help a lot with professional development.
Any denunciation leading to cooperation with our school will be rewarded with a bonus of CZK 1000,-.
All you have to do is to give us the e-mail or phone number of the person (not forgetting to ask him/her for permission). The cash will be yours right away after signing the contract.
Are you the one we have been waiting for? Surrender, bring this leaflet to the interview and we will pay the reward to you!

You'll have to ask them about teaching conditions, etc.
Glossa is run by Dr. David Dvorsky, who is a really good employer, and I would definitely recommend either calling or emailing them.
All the best! |

Cheers for that, I'll check it out.
Chris, I wouldn't say Poland prefers the Callan method but yea, there are a few Callan schools. The vast majority use the Communicative Method now though.
TEFL,
Cheers for that. They sound like Matrix fans! If you want the bounty, pm me and you can give them my email address. |

Thanks for the offer but it is your bounty.
