I would say that shows a bit of ignorance about the history of Africa. Africans are no different that any human culture and have happily massacred their own through the years and enslaved or sold off the remaining members of the losing side to whichever slave traders were about... be they the ever active Arab traders or the closest colonial.

There is no race with clean hands... the only difference is scale...

So, let assume or choose a scale of 11, and compare the countries with a history of colonization. With 1 for high 'coloniser' and 11 for less 'coloniser'
According to History and statistics, we have the following list indicating the territories colonized by the European powers and the United States since 1492.

1. UK
2. France
3. Portugal
4. Spain
5. Netherlands
6. Belgium
7. US
8. Russia
9. Italy
10. Germany
11. Turkey

You see VS, African countries are not mentioned in the above list, which means they did not colonize other countries.

Dmb should be proud for UK to be 1st in the list! Laughing
I assume the Scots were also colonized by the English Laughing

Dear 007

Ignoring the fact that African homosapiens colonized the whole world and other branches of humanity became extinct, your analysis is way out even regarding recent history.

Africans colonized Africa. As White South Africans often point out they were in South Africa before either the Xhosa or the Zulu who displaced the native Hottentots. There was in fact in the 19th century a mass colonization of much of Africa by other tribes, and the original inhabitants of much of Southern Africa were expelled to marginal habitats such as the Kalahari. This expansion ran parallel with the 19th century Western colonialization and the Arab coloniazaition of much of East Africa, and probably contributed more to African misery in the disastrous 19th century than either of those two.

Incidentally the 'rush to Africa' occurred in the second half of the nineteenth century, after the abolition of the slave trade, so Cleo's claim You can hardly blame the Africans after years of domination for selling other competing tribes off to the Westerners is fanciful.

Well, there it is. If that doesnt exonerate the British empire for causing most every problem in the world, I dont know what does.

Sometimes your ignorance and inability to read and understand English is really quite appalling. Perhaps you should try leaving this board and find one in a language that you actually comprehend.

It does nothing of the sort, nor have anything to do with your conclusion, but you seem to be vying with 007 to see who can be the most illogical.

I know you love chasing me around on this board but wouldn't you be better off verifying who actually wrote what before misattributing quotes for reasons best know to yourself?

VS, this board is open to anybody to participate, and it is not up to you to decide who should participate and who should live!
If you are not happy with my posts, just ignore them.

Perhaps you should revise your history knowledge!

Who said that Arabs are Africans?
Also, where is your documented historical evidence that Africans colonized Africa?

The term colonialism is usually used with reference to European overseas empires and Imperialism!

So, Mr Jones, any poster who holds views against yours is ill-logical.
Of course, Mr Logical, you are really Logical in the sense of Ill-Logicality.

Mr Logical, you can be both on to logical and in to logical, but when you're out of logical you become ill-logical. What a Logic?

Please stop going off-topic. This thread is about Colonialism in Africa, not food.

It just seems that every time we try to have an innocent little political discussion the foodies come along and attempt to gastronomise it.

I just had chelo kabob, and it was excellent.

By the way, Africa has been overtaken by white supremists, and its due to no fault of their own.
