I only knew them as plantars warts. I've never had one myself, and have always feared getting foot fungus from going barefoot in public places more than getting those (though it sounds like they're pretty virulent if you can get them from trying on sandals!).
I think I've known people who've had them though... So it's not a verucca-free zone, just a place where no one talks about it. We have TV commercials about herpes and genital warts thank goodness, but foot warts are very hush hush. Perhaps it's related to national security. |
