Wow, shocked to see this froum here but happy to help those who are desperate as we were. I think this is a great topic for this time of year.
We have been watching over sopcast. You go here... http://www.sopcast.org/ and download the player then go here ... http://www.myp2p.eu/NHL.htm to find out what games are on when. We have been watching all the playoff games there. I am also a diehard Canuck fan and I'm so nervous about tonight...I will cry if we lose in the first round again. I know I'm such a girl...ok I will beat my head against the concrete wall if we lose...
The quality on sopcast isn't perfect but it's free and it's nice to watch. I don't know of anywhere here in Monterrey to watch so we're just glad to have it. You can also go to the forum on the second link to find out more about who's showing games and get info. They also have the CBC links and we were able to get one game from there too but they don't show the commercials which is part of playoffs too!!!
Our Mexican friends think we're crazy...sitting in front of our computer cheering
Oh and that sopcast also broadcasts other channels...other sports and movies and tv shows. You can get your fix of CBC news as well. |

| Am I being too bold in assuming that you guys have something slightly faster than dial-up? Ah, to have technology. (Mournful sigh). |

| It's kind of cool to know that other people in Mexico are supporting the Cancuks too! |

Oh ya, we've been dying for some hockey since we got here, more importantly Canucks hockey. We get some games on our dig cable but never the Nucks. It's great to be able to watch playoffs!!!
It's going to be a tough series this time but we can do it!!! |

| Just in case anyone ever wanted to research this again later (odds are slim, but whatever), I found a new sports bar in Oaxaca centro called Metro's City (seriously). It doesn't strike me as a place that you would ever venture into unless you were an insane sports fan or having a serious, serious hankering for a platter of chicken fingers and cheese sticks (which they have, called the Gringotana, ha!). But they do have lots of plasma screens and a Sky satellite feed, so theoretically I'll be able to watch games that are on ESPN. I tried to go and watch a game that was only broadcast on TNT in the states, and they couldn't find it for me. Sigh. But here's to hoping! It's on Xincotencl between Hildalgo and Guerrero on the west side of the street. Viva Pistons! |
