Ca you get hired with an M.Ed and a TEFL at HCT, or do you need an MATESOL?

If your experience is related - ie teaching Academic English with lots of writing - not conversation/language schools, I don't see why not. Much depends on their needs at the moment.

The HCT usually asks for a degree directly related to the subject you teach. I think that most of the EFL teachers I work with who have Masters have them in Linguistics or TESOL. However, as VS said, experience of teaching academic English, supply of teachers and the mood of the moment all make a difference.

I think you're likely to need a Master's or Diploma in ELT of some kind. However, your qualifications look as if they might be appropriate for work on the B.Ed. (ETS) programme - you might like to check that out.

Of course the only way to be sure is to apply (for either programme, or even both). If you've got the time to put in an application, you might as well give it a go.
