I have been told that BJ is not of interest for work to many foreigners, and that they prefer other cities like Shanghai or Guanzhou. I wonder how many of you feel this way or not. |

Hmmmmmm ? Well, I've been here a while, and ummmmm, I'm not sure, kinda gone to the dogs. Maybe, I'll specifically post on that.
The big thing is: If folks were making 15,000 a month in 2000, 11,000 in 2001, 8,000 in 2002, and so on; the guy contemplating coming in 2008 for 5,000 will still come for that 5,000- Just like the guy that comes in 2009 for 4,000.And I'm sure the guy coming in 2010 will put up a good argument as to why he's coming for 2,000. |

I would prefer the climate up north over that of Guangzhou but I am firmly rooted down south.
Another plus for Peking is it's proximity to parts of China that have places of historic interest. The city itself has a lot more than, say, Guangzhou does.
Talking of salaries...that may be a different topic. |
