hi....does anyone know who or where to contact for some japanese lessons. i will be leaving in about 3 weeks and would like to find a short introductory course or something of the sort before i go.
maybe the japanese cultural centre....i don't know!
and please don't say berlitz....

If you want a short sharp intro to Japanese, a pimsleur course is a good idea. Expensive but you may be able to download it from somewhere. |

thanks.....but what's a primsleur course? maybe you can tell me of a good place in tokyo for studying japanese....i know it's a big city and there are a lot of places, but a recommendation is always good.
and i never have a lot of money....so i'm looking for something cheap.

Anne, once you get to Tokyo, ask where the nearest "kouminkan" (co- ming- khan) is. These are large government-sponsored community centers with an astounding variety of free or cheap (<3,000 yen/month) lessons. You'll find that many kouminkan have at least one free group for teaching Japanese speaking and/or reading to foreigners. |
