the College is to operate out of the existing Abu Dhabi Education Council campus in Abu Dhabi i.e. on the major road between the AAMC and AAWC sites. The project though newish has significant funding support from the AD government and is an initiative to further develop the UAE's growing demand for quality improvement in its education sector. The several folks I know who have moved over from HCT are experienced ME'ers and I was not surprised to learn of their recruitment. As a startup, the going could be rough in terms of setting the procedures as you go yet all entrepreneurial organizations are like that in the first phase. Good luck.

Thanks Sandy Gallop, I appreciate the info. It does make sense that the start up is going to be bumpy, no master plan ever goes as planned any way.

regards,

Anyways, I dont trust anyone any more and their motives behind what they write. veiledsentiments you are making illiterate claims based on no knowledge, but hey at the end of the day you are free to say what you want even though you dont know what you are saying is true or not. Because it is not. With all due respect, are you from a third world country or originally from one. I thought so.

Can anyone provide any useful information about the college, the government, the staff, the culture... before I move across the world with my family.

Thank you for the best laugh that I have had all day. Laughing

So, your other screen name got banned?

I can only hope that you are not actually a fellow American, but there are so many that are this embarrassingly arrogant and rude. First off I suggest that you check the dictionary for the meaning of the word 'illiterate' and I would hope that if you had ever taught English, you would have learned to recognize a native speaker. Sorry, my family has been many generations in the US... but apparently you are one of those racist types that thinks that suggesting someone is from a 'third world' country makes you important or perhaps 'whiter' and thus superior.

Good Luck to your new employer if you are an example of what they are hiring.

I am sorry if I offended you, but respect is earned my lovely VS, before you point the finger, you should have been carefull yourself and should have chosen the right information to post. By assuming AGAIN that my other nick name got banned tell me more and more and more about you. I will not prove anything to you, because I know your inquisitiveness is picking at you.

It was based on your attitude that I have suggested your background and you are only reassuring me that yes you are from a third world country and just having lived abroad doesn't neccesarly mean that you have the traits of a fellow American. It is in the blood, genes and it doesn't go away believe me.

It is not arrogance, but rather pride, and I think you being retired has affected your behaviour to younger professionals like myself and many others who are looking after their future and that of their families.

you have lived your life dear, now let others discover their opportunities. Having people like you providing incorrect information and still not even apologizing appalls me, specially when you talk about arrogance. Being an ex US Marine who served his country I respect the hand that offers me an opportunity, and I come here for answers and support and when I am wrong I will admit that i am wrong, but instead you are still our there attacking me for being straight forward.

By the way my wife is from a third world country and my children are not white. So there you are, please stand correct for your statements and do not antagonize people and organizations who are starting their lives just because you have already had yours.

(MOD edit)

Peace

This seems to have spiraled out of control again.

Can we get back on topic?

The topic being, what is known about the ECAE, where will the be located, and how do their offers compare to other schools in the area in the ME.

As for people running down the curriculum that has been developed in singapore, I have a question. The names associated with that curriculum are two of the best known ESL curriculum developers in the field. I can see at least 4 dog eared books by them on my wife's bookshelf.

I find it odd that people run this down, but from what I know those curriculum devleopers are well known in the field and top notch.
