i would like to live in west pap for a while, i aint no high fallutin geologist, oil pumping, rainforest savin/destroyin fella, so; other than this ef outfit i doubt there is that much scope. who of you lot works has worked there, whats it like to live there, and any other useful snippets of experience you might have. general condemnation of ef is unnecassary as i my back still smarts from the crack of a certain jakarta magnate's whip, and am aware of the short comings. ta |

Well I don't know much about the school but just remember that Papua is far from anywhere and if you don't like where you work you are pretty much stuck there with no other prospects in the near future.. |

yet another McEF on
have there been EFs growin in Indonesia like mushrooms or what
in china, they grew until a severe water shortage news came and warned that there wouldn't be any water by 2030.....so, those mushrooms hid underground
OP, you sure might get stuck there, so watch out
EFs jobs are just like sellin those burgers on buns ....wouldn't touch those burgers but buns
peace to the old EF fart cuttin Swiss up in the hills without knowin what goes on
and
cheers and beers to the quarters of heads that are thinkin of runnin the operation |

EF is not so bad. The books they use are a little odd and no-where near as professional as Headway in either presentation or the tapes. It all depends on what you and other teachers make of it and what other resources you use.
The big weakness with EF all over Indonesia is with the various owners and how much value they put on their teachers and their well-being.
Normally the various Directors of Studies are the meat in the sandwich, and you cannot blame everything onto them. If the owner is caring, then the schools can be great.
Jayapura seemed to me to be a bit of a 'wild west' place when I visited, and a few folk trying to make 'friends'. A place to be careful, but still a lot safer than over the border in PNG where you cannot go out after dark. |

well, you might be right with those various owners and their values, however this is supposedly MacChain and there is little control over what those owners can or cannot do...this MacChain is out to accumulate the number of its centers around the world and that's their most important goal
if you care about who you work for, get out of this corrupt organization...do not support their lame educational monopoly, if you don't have to
peace to the EF founder who's lost his control
and
cheers and beers to all hard working FTs in Indonesia |
