Is it worth it to go to Guangzhou for the weekend? What about Shenzen?
Do you find that you are received much differently in those places
than in Hong Kong? |

I lived in HK and Shenzhen and am now in Guangzhou; what exactly are you looking for???
What differences do you expect?
Shenzhen is the least interesting place among the 3 mentioned by you; Guyangzhou is the most polluted anbd crowded. Plus points: Shenzhen is just on HK's doorstep, Guangzhou has at least a modicum of history to offer. But whether YOU of all people would want to spend your leisure time in either I have no inkling.
Seeing is believing - do visit and make your own judgement! A through train htakes little over one hour to Guangzhou... |

Guangzhou definitely has some worthwhile sightseeing if you're up for it. Shenzhen doesn't have much--unless you're in the market for tons of fake products. |
