I will be moving to Yakohama-Shi next week ( I'm a bit nervous ) and I'm curious is anyone may be able to answer a few questions I have, or any information one considers relevant would be greatly appreciated ( cheap places to eat etc) !
In particular I was wondering about places to go out, particularly establishments that have jazz music, and I was also wondering about places to exercise in Yokohama-Shi as well.
Thanks !! |

Is this a typo or is there really a Yakohama in Japan? If so, where is it? Just curious. |

The spelling was wrong, I apologize. I was first given the name over the phone, and I believe I must have copied it down wrong! I realized I had spelled Yokohama wrong insofar as I received a copy of my addresswith the correct spelling. |

Welli it`s a big place but the downtown is fairly walkable. You can just look around. Lots of American places if needed. There`s a place near the train station-same building as a record store-sorry it`s been a few years-I think it`s Asian Kitchen or something similar. Good variety of Asian food. There`s a big mall a few stops from the main train station with an amusement park. Don` t let the crowds worry you-piece of cake. |

Aaaahhhh, I thought there was something amiss. "It's a big place" - nomadder's understatement of the week! It's big enough that you should find everything you could possibly need and more besides. Unfortunately, I have not been there and so cannot give you any more info besides reiterating that, yep, it's big |

for jazz there is the Windjammer. It is located in Chinatown.
Yokohama`s Chinatown is the largest in the world. |
