No, Justin's with that orignation with many names. Or maybe just many partnerships. Experiment in International Living, School for International Training, World Learning, etc. Etc. |
Even more complicated than that. It all started in 1932... (anyone who really wants to hear the whole story, feel free to drop me a line. Also, get a life.)
The short version is that the Experiment in International Living is an international federation of independent non-profits, each one the representation of their individual country in FEIL. (The Federation of the Experiment in International Living.) Some of these members use the Experiment name, and some don't, just to keep it complicated. EIL Ecuador, where I work, is the Ecuadorian member.
World Learning is the US member, and SIT and The US Experiment in International Living are both some sort of subsidiaries of World Learning. Or something like that.
To complicate further, there is a lot of cooperation between federation members, and at EIL Ecuador, we offer a TESOL certificate accredited through the School for International Training. So, while I'm licensed by them as a TESOL trainer, I don't actually work directly for SIT. Not yet, anyway, though I'd love to at some point in the future.
Anyway, I guess the original topic was work in Cuenca and provincial cities...so let me just say that when I started here, our organisation worked in English teaching in Quito only- now it's Quito and Guayaquil, and, if all goes well, we hope to be moving into some provincial capitals in the next school year.
All the best, and sorry to have bored you,
