|
|
Hi,
I was planning on enrolling in chinese classes and getting a 60 day multiple entry visa and just get it extended every 60 days.
some quick questions:
1.) how many times can a 60 day multiple entry visa be renewed?
2.) Can you get a 60 day visa renewed without leaving the country?
3.) I've heard that in order to get a 60 day visa you also need to have a bank statement that shows you currently have like 100,000 NT in the bank. Is this true? If so, how are you expected to prove this? With a printout of your online bank statement? Can't you just fake that?
4.) Also, I heard in Hong Kong you are expected to provide proof of a plane ticket OUT of taiwan? Why is this?
thanks! |

The requirements for extending visas change by location and I presume, astrological position.
The bank statement probably is an additional requirement set down by the local office you went to to get the extension. Try a different city as regulations change with locations or try extending it for a different reason.
You cannot renew your multiple entry visa without re-entering Taiwan, you can however extend it unless it has the usual no extension stamp on it.
Try a midnight cruise for a visa run. Currently going for about 4000nt and worth every penny.
If you have a multiple entry tourist visa, you can extend it up to 6 months but, stay in Taiwan for more than 90 days you have to pay taxes on any income received in Taiwan.
The requirement for an onward ticket is enforced in Hong Kong because that is what the regulations state.Hong Kong is one of those places that actually do what they say. In Taiwan that regulation is erratically enforced depending on your quanxi and the mood of the immigration officer.
Welcome to Taiwan
Good luck,
A. |
