There are loads of schools there but you don't see many ads. I'm sure you could find a job if you arrived without one lined up. But it seems the schools perfer to just hire teachers on a class by class basis, and it seems many people piece together enough hours at two or more schools until they opportunity for something full time opens up. There are a couple of people here who have worked there. Hopefully they will see this and reply. I lived there, but was not working there.

I tried Morelia for a while. I found work right away but only a few hours a week at a few different schools. They were spread out all over the city and I spent a lot of time travelling between them. I wasn't completely happy with the quality of education at any of the schools and couldn't see working so few hours just for the pleasure of living in what is a pretty neat city.

I lucked into a great job in Cuernavaca and it has worked out well for me here. Morelia was worth more of a shot than I gave it, but I'm happy with my decision to leave.

Morelia has lots of schools and lots of opportunities. If you are planning to go down there you should have no trouble finding work here and there and it seems full-time or private school opportunities come up every once and a while. It would help to know what your plans are and what kind of work you are looking for.

I have a full-time job in Morelia. I was hired last year in June to start at the end of August. The two current foreign teachers had just announced their intention not to continue working through the summer and I was there at the right time. The second position was filled by mid-August.
