Look at the WHV homepage, and you'll see that you can indeed work full-time.

The technical point is that WHV, by its very name, is a visa for people who are ON HOLIDAY, so it is not designed for people to work full-time on a permanent basis (that is, on a 1-year contract). Employers and bureaucrats turn a blind eye to this, as many WHV holders have reported, though. |

| but again, would it just be wiser to do the 2 years of schooling for the bachelors. Then go on the exchange and do a year of the bachelors up in japan, then return and finish the last year here? Then i could go back to japan and go into a program like jet and make good money and explore and train more right? It takes longer then just going with the WHV but the end pay off is better right? you get to live in japan and enjoy the country well having a good job. |

I think if the main purpose of your trip is to get the highest training in Jiu Jitsu, you should go to Brazil. The highest level with the best fighters are there.
If you're willing to compromise that to enjoy a culture you choose, Japan's ok. |
