I watched Euro last night on TRT. It's not the same without Terry.(btw Hungary were my faves)

BBC hasn't been the same since they moved Eastenders to the weekend. I hardly ever see it now.

We watched it on TRT as well and the presenter was very bored and impatient sounding. Far too many Hadi ya's for my taste.

I Liked Bulgaria, but had a soft spot for Ukraine and Romania too. Serbia was just odd and not really very interesting.

Serbia bit-- I barely even noticed it. Ukraine cracked me up but Sweden's glam thing was my favorite. Hungary and Germany were also pretty good.

And I liked how England just doesn't even try.

But yeah, without Terry Wogan it was even more pointless than usual. Even my husband prefers it with Terry Wogan. The only funny thing the Turkish guy said was when the Finns trotted out Santa Clause as though they thought him up, and the announcer said 'He must have come there from Antakya.'

If I've learned anything from Dad's Army, it's that in Engliand during WWII, a great deal of merriment was had by all, with lots of hi-jinxs and amusing misunderstandings... Dad's Army must be like Three's Company or the Andy Griffith Show in the US-- it was never very good, but somehow made the rerun circuit so we ended up watching it again and again throughout most of our young lives...

I see from trailers that the new series of Little Britain is coming in June. Now that is worth paying your license fee.

Oi, before we drift off the subject (Eurovision) did anybody else notice which country was given maximum points from Turkey ? Who said it wasn't political ?

And why is Macedonia the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia? Is that really necessary? It's like Prince-- the Country Formerly Known As A Republic Of Yugoslavia.

And before that, it was just plain Macedonia. Like no one had ever heard of it before.

The Serbian entry was by far the best performance of the night.

She was streets ahead of the rest of them, although that's not hard.

Did anyone notice how the TRT presenter got nervous when Armenia got close to Turkey in the latter part of the night?

Too close for comfort, anyway.

Well at least the UK showed how fantastically progressive they are...
