A Muslim British teacher got a brown Iqama (for non-Muslim) by mistake.
The problem is that this fellow did not know that there is a difference between the green and the brown Iqama. One day he was travelling to Makkah to do Omrah, and at the entrance of Makkah city the Al-Jawazat (immigration police) stopped him to check his Iqama, they found that he got a Brown Iqama and not a Green one, so he was refused to enter Makkah, even though he explained to them that he is a Muslim, but they refused him entry!!
Later he was asked by the administration to submit a new form for a new Green Iqama, and he had to pay SR500 for the new Iqama, even though it was not his fault!!!!!!

What do you think about this? Any similar stories about Green and Brown Iqama?

You're all behind the times. The Igamas that have been issued for at least the past year are neither green nor brown but are laminated cards which don't look that different from student ID cards.

Another pointless piece of babble from Abba...

Some teachers still have their old green and brown Iqamas. And won't be renewed until they reach their expiry dates.

They are still issuing the booklets in the Jubail Area.

As far as the OP is concerned it is irrelevant whether the Iqama is a laminated card or in the form of a booklet since I'm sure the laminated card will carry some indication that the holder is a Muslim. The situation that 007 describes could arise with either if a Muslim newcomer to the Kingdom is unaware of this and omits to make it clear to his employer that he requires a ''Muslim'' Iqama.

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that we will one day live in a Kingdom where guests will not be judged by the color of their iqama but by the content of their character.

I have a dream yesterday not today, that we will someday live in the magic kingdom where foreigners will not be judged by the colour of their eyes but by the content of their hearts.

I have a dream that one day on the red square of Riyadh and Jeddah, the men and women of this magic kingdom will be able to stand up for their rights, and be able to express themselves in a free and equal society, where the white will be black, and the black will be white, and be able to sit down together at the tables of brotherhood and sisterhood. Amen.

Van, our resident poet, what do you think about my above humble poem? Laughing

I had a bad dream last night.

I dreamt that we lived in a Kingdom where teachers weren't judged by the color of their hair and eyes but by the content of their CV.
