Maybe - but its the inability to look at your male friends' chests by the water slide that seems to bother you most of all. |

Both Cleo and Q of S are what Stephen accurately described as warped little schoolmarms. They wrap themselves in their abayas and shrill, unconsidered, knee-jerk political correctness and take pride in spending much of their lives in Saudi Arabia: not only that, but in Saudi Arabia under the mistaken assumption that they are female muttawas--arbiters of PC. How pathetic.
Stephen Jones and I have disagreed about language before, and it was obvious that one thing Stephen does not do is consider the "Queen's English" the only correct one. He seems to be a theoretical linguist, and linguists do not designate any standard dialect as the "correct" one. As usual, Q of S and Cleo show they have not had the benefit of an education that emphasizes dispassionate and thorough analysis. In other words, neither of them has a clue. What's quite amusing, however, is Cleo's constant insinuations that men in this forum are clamoring for her body. I have three words for that: Don't flatter yourself.
Our prissy little schoolmarms also accuse us--as men--of being on some kind of eternal hormone-driven search for young Asian women, who aare apparently supposed to be either bargirls or poverty-stricken and desperate! What a witless stereotype for all, both for men and for Asian women. Well--I am married to a Chinese from Kuala Lumpur, and previously very well acquainted with many Chinese women, from KL, from China and from Singapore. I can confirm that Chinese women are NOBODY's kitchen slaves. So stop insulting Asian women when you don't have a clue. My wife is a successful businesswoman, but if she were a successful basketweaver she would still be worth 10 of you provincial little schoolteachers. |

Dear Cleo
Why are you using big AVATAR, you could have chosen the same avatar with minimum size!
Yours is spoiling the area of the thread, and you notice that there is large space unused left next to your avatar.
I propose for you the following avatar (of course, of your preferred Hero, Crowe!), the size of the avatar is only 5K.
Or if you want, what about this one:
BTW, Cleo, I think there is a big difference between the real Gladiator, and the Mickey Mouse Crowe, because it seems Crowe is gropping women wherever he goes to pubs, what a type of 'hero'!!
Read the story about him..........
Crowe Back to His Old Ways?
Hollywood hellraiser Russell Crowe has landed himself in trouble again - he has been accused of groping women in a bar in Canada. The Gladiator star was thought to have calmed his wild ways after marrying Danielle Spencer last year - but reports near the Toronto set of new boxing drama Cinderella Man suggest the opposite. After a flurry of entries on a local message board, Toronto Star columnist Rota Zekas revealed some locals' claims in the newspaper. One post alleges an incident took place on June 27 at Hemingway's Bar, and reads, "There he is, last night... Hammered out of his skull at Hemingway's in Yorkville... hitting on everything that moves. I mean right out there in the open, hands all over girls' legs, begging girls not ..

Indeed, I extend my humble apologies to all Asian women who are married to ESL teachers. I meant to insult the guys married to them, not the industrious Asian women you "charmed" into marriage. Just continue telling yourself that...and hope it will get you through the paranoid days. |

Nobody should accuse Saudi Arabia of being unfair to one group. Everybody suffers. |
Except you - unless we include your clear soft spot for Saudi. That can be the only explanation of your frequent visits to the Saudi forum. A little Saudi home sick arent we? Dont worry, there may be hope for you yet, if some of the other posters can say " I am an English teacher gone fetishist," and others insisting, that "we still rule the world", have taught us anything, its that anyone can get a job back in the KS 0f A.

Once again 007, you have an impressive but redundant grasp of the obvious. Nobody expects Russel Crowe to be anything less than a brut, he sets the standard for all Greek god-types that have followed. |

You're out of line here Queenie. You've gone too far. Very sad indeed. I think you might be due another break from this forum.

Again, more evidence that you have much more interest in us than vice versa. Fact is, you have no clue how long I have spent in this country. Clue: it's not 'much of my life'.

Actually, the only person to mention my 'body' on this forum is.... you!

Can you find the exact quote where I said anything of the sort? Should be easy, no? Failing that, can we assume that for fairly obvious reasons, you are simply protesting too much?

Well, since you (let me remind you) brought your wife's nationality, alleged success and profession into the discussion, can I ask why she married someone who makes a meagre living 'teaching' bored military grunts in countries he despises? Normally, of course, I would not consider such subjects fit for discussion on an EFL board, but since you have lowered the bar considerably - both in providing details of your wife's credentials, not to mention your previous predilection for surprisingly detailed descriptions of the Jeddah cruising scene, you have only yourself to blame.
BTW 007, your link is out of date, since Crowe has been married a few years now, not just one as said in the link. In any case, who cares if he behaves badly in 'real life'? I don't even fancy him in any role other than that of Maximus Decimus Meridius, Commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, Loyal servant.... and well, the rest is cinema history. |

| Stephen Jones is showing his true colours: a nasty, arrogant Brit who engages in the worst kind of name calling. His behaviour is most unprofessional. I think I now understand why the authorities at his last job gave him the boot. There is little doubt that KFUPM will soon see the light and let him go. |
Keep us posted on his bad behavior in the work place, if you dare.
Van, your suggestion has been noted, but discarded. I speak the truth, and I refuse to sit quiet at people's disturbing commentary and odd recollections of the "fat boys" in Jeddah and constant references to Asian women any longer. It is these people who have crossed the line and compounded, and racism, sexism, prejudice and chauvinism are taking over this forum, so its time to say the bad behavior of certain people is not acceptable any longer. We may be online but I know the difference between right and wrong and refuse to keep taking certain comments from the likes of male posters on this board. Deal with it, I am calling you all out your bad behavior. |

Cleo--I have not worked at a military school since 1994, and that was for only two years out of the last 20., and was in Saudi only from 1992-96.(However, I might add that the "military" teachers there were not inherently inferior to you. I know that's hard for you to believe...but there it is.) The rest of the time I have been at universities. I have not been in Saudi since 1996 and, being of sound mind, will never return. Besides, it looks like Q of S is very angry and might demand a duel or fisticuffs if she somehow knew I was arriving.
Q of S--you mystify me, as usual. This was the first time I ever mentioned Asian ladies. It was in response to Cleo's multiple references to us males supposedly wishing to secure ladies from Asia to oppress. |

Not sure why you treated us to a mini CV, 'nomad', since I have no interest in your career track. Do we take it that your career simply follows that of your 'succesfull busineeswoman' wife? Couldn't be the other way round of course, given what I know about ESL salaries. That would not be possible.

Two things are evident from this: 1) that the nomad has a massive inferiority complex which he seeks to compensate for by protesting too much, 2) that he has an uncanny knack for 'knowing' things about people he has never met. Just like I've spent 'much of my life' here. Seems the nomad knows more about me than I do about myself.

Multiple eh? And yet, strangely enough, you have not been able to quote one such reference. I think if you take the trouble to read the posts that you'll quickly find you have caught the Stephen Jones disease of misattributing quotes here. Or myabe you'll prove me wrong by quoting 'multiple' references to the above.[/i] |

SJ, whilst it's true you can be a useful source of information, your overriding arrogance does you no justice, and can lead one (that one being me) to wonder what planet you're (on occasion) inhabiting. At other times you sound quite sensible. Not necessarily 'ethical'- just relatively 'rational'. |
Perhaps you can tell me what is arrogant to suggest having a restaurant full of waiters who don't speak the same language as any of their customers isn't good for business? |
