It all depends on how prepared you are and how good you are at taking exams.
I failed it first time round but got it the 2nd - it did seem to be easier but maybe I had just prepared more.
Good Luck with it. |

Cheers
I'm a bit worried about the grammar part . I think the discursive type questions and theory q's are not so tough but the grammar section worries me a bit . Have to answer 4 out of 5 questions and I'm worried thy'll stick stuff in there I haven't looked at . I've studied a lot already and I think I'm okay at exams. Haven't taken one in 10 years !!
If I fail I have to wait a year to redo it !!! That is gonna play with my plans !! I'll just have to give it my best and see .
any tips would be appreciated !! |

Assuming you have a copy of the course syllabus, read it carefully and identify any areas you haven't revised or you feel need extra attention.
Does your course provider make copies of past papers available to students? If so, you might try answering some questions in the time allotted. |

Yeah Graham . I'm looking at old papers and answering q's at the moment . I'll try and check out the syllabus - that's a good idea .I'll work on mastering all theses past papers first . Definitely need to sharpen up though . I feel a bit better tonight - been attacking the subjunctive. Looking at all the types of modals and usages is a bit overwhelming but I think as always I'm being overcautious - I hope so ! |

Sheeba, don't waste your time on the subjunctive for the Dip. It's not necessary. |

DMB . Is not the following past exam question to do with the subjunctive . I'm under the impression it is -
3.What are the differences between factual, theoretical and hypothetical meaning in English? Use examples to illustrate the differences in use in relation to the difference in meaning, and consider what difficulties may arise for a learner when encountering these differences for the first time. |

I'd say it was more a question about so-called 0, 1st, 2nd and 3rd conditional. |
