Hi there
I plan to come to Taiwan in December and need to find temporary accommodation in a decent hostel or cheap hotel in Taipei city, preferably near Sogo Department Store?

Try Formosa its cheap and a bout as good as any. Call lin titi at886-2-2511-9625.
Its not next to sogo but a short subway or bus ride
