| But their methods are not typical of education in the 21st century (to say the least) so I don't think a year there would be a good start to a career in teaching |
Not any century, really. I filled the OP in the good, bad, and ugly of Choueifat. This can be, if absolutely nothing else, a great opportunity to develop classroom management skills. For someone considering getting a post grad cert/dip, it could be helpful, but not in respect to the Choueifat curriculum and teaching style.

| You have to wonder about an establishment that charges high fees (used to be the most expensive school in town, don't know if it still is though) and employs unqualified teachers. |
Their fees are actually middle of the road, compared to the rest of Dubai. Various Arab and Indian/Pakistani expats are typically what makes up the student population. Choueifat suceeds because it appeals to many Arab's: drill and kill followed by regular exams. Would never send my own kids there, but lots of parents love it. Personally, I think it's ripping them off. |

| I was referring to Choueifat Al Ain on cost as that's where the OP has her offer. Pupils here are mostly various expatriate Arabs, a lot of South Asians, quite a few Filipinos. Few Europeans/North Americans. It used to be the only international secondary school in town but now there's a lot more competition. |

Yes, I am referring to the costs of CHoueifat, as well. A few years ago, a grade 2 student would pay 24,000 dirhams/year in tuition (plus the uniforms and books made by Choueifat). That's quite cheap compared to other higher caliber international schools. |
