yeah, i see what you mean. i really meant latin american when i said latincountry. chile and argentina are more spanish-latin countries rather than south american-latin countries is what i meant. peru, ecuador and bolivia are what we see in england as typicallatin american countries. a lot of my visitors to argentina and chile have been surprised as to how different those countries areto their idea of a latin american country, having only really had TV and press exposure to the andean countries. |

I think in the US, when people think Latin America they think something like Miami, Cuba, Mexican beach resorts. Hot weather, tropical fruits, brightly-colored co c ktails, Salsa and Merengue music, Haciendas, seoritas with big dark eyes and flowers in their hair... |

I lived in Hawaii for 4 years and I would always laugh at the midwestern folks that came wearing matching aloha shirts and shorts. By the bus load they would go from site to site and take photos. I cringe at the thought of these people spending thousands of their hard earned corn fed dollars to travel in such a sterile way. Half of I am sure though Hawaii was just ok. When it can be an amazingly beautiful place even Honolulu. Hula skirts, lies, lua's on the beach, surfing, Mai Thai's, etc.
