It seems that this is your first foray into discussion boards.

Have you ever heard of 'search'?? It is at the top of the white page with the little spyglass next to the word.

That might give you some information so that you can ask a question that we can answer. What constitutes "information on living" to you? There are tons of posts on Sharjah and HCT. You need to be more specific.

P.W.
Think Dubai, think NYC. Think Sharjah, think New Jersey.

Kiefer - Thank you for your response. Short, to the point, and answers my question perfectly!

VS - You're right, I am new to the board and I'm still trying to sort out how everything works. I realize that you have a wealth of knowledge and spend a lot of your free time on these boards. Moving forward, please try to be careful about how you say things. Some of us aren't as familiar with the way this works, or how the Middle East operates. There are going to be questions that you find absolutely ridiculous, but that others need answers to. It seems that you've found that it's necessary to respond to posts that you deem senseless, in a rude and arrogant manner. It's not appreciated at all.

Hey VS, I know you don't need me to support you, but I never find your comments anything but supportive and to the point. I appreciate you and your comments.

PW - VS was just being to the point. If you think she is harsh, you will have a lot of problems living in the UAE. People come from all around the world and might not be careful about how they say things. VS was correct - do a search. If you didn't know how to do one, now you do.

It's one thing to suggest that someone do a search, and perhaps, if you realize that they are new to a group and not fully understanding of the process, to explain to them how to do it. I assure you, I have a thick skin and do not take offense easily. I do however believe that there is a certain way that people deserve to be spoken to, regardless of where they are. It may not apply to you or VS, but it certainly applies to the way I choose to speak to people.

Thanks again for all your help.

This is rather OTT. You're not displaying evidence of the 'thick skin' you purportedly have. If you're coming to the Gulf you'd do well to develop one as quickly as possible- it's indispensable to spending any length of time here. If you want questions answered make them specific. Few people have either time or inclination to write a generic essay on 'living in the UAE'.

Well, if one is new to the system, perhaps one should do some extensive reading before posting questions. It helps one to avoid looking foolish. Then you need not get bent out of shape if someone points out that there is a search, and I even took the time to tell you how to find it.

If you think that is rude and arrogant, it is you that has the problem, not me. As the other posters suggest, perhaps you are way too touchy and insecure for the Gulf.

Try reading around on the Saudi Arabia section and you will see how truly rude the posters here can be on a regular basis. And they manage to be rude without ever being helpful. Laughing
