I never worked for these people but I have a list of 11 prior teachers who all highly recommend you not work there. They have now decreased their overall salary. Gates and your apartment itself is "unexitable" after 10 PM, and if you have a Chinese girl or boyfriend ... you are fired on the spot.
If anyone wants the list of complaints and other issues I'm happy to forward them to you. I live in Taian (where the job is), so I'm aware of the issues they have.
Just my own thoughts to pass along. |

Teachers will have no more than 24 teaching hours per week |

Starting from RMB 4,000 per month depending on applicants
qualification and experience.

That's about five kuai less per class than that 68 year old teacher in Beijing (you know, the one who's called a dirty c*nt by his students, and has now gained national fame over the internet) makes.

A fully equipped communal kitchen (microwave
stove, and refrigerator), shared dining room, and washing machines are
available for use by the foreign teachers |
And I bet they ask for a demo lesson, three weeks of unpaid "training", and the right to force FTs to undergo anal cavity searches after class to ensure that all pieces of chalk are accounted for at the end of the day.
Who would apply for such a position?

Don't go there. The Admin is strictly authoritarian, and run things by the Party book! The "communal" kitchen serves 8 teachers, if I remember rightly, and is big enough for one! There is little communication between local teachers and foreigners, and the teacher's apartment is chained shut at night. Not a good place to be. When I was there, albeit briefly, the older teachers were strictly peasant class....snotting into a bucket in the staffroom, slagging here, there and everywhere, and of course, the students followed suit! I escaped via the "friend overnight in the apartment" clause. The salaries are much lower now, as well. They don't deserve foreign teachers. Stay away! |

lol, I would certainly not want to work 24 hours for 4,000 kuai. That's a lot of teaching. As far as the communal kitchen goes, if it's well stocked with fresh bananas, it could be worth considering. |

Much lower than 4000RMB? Even if they offer you the full generous 4000, working 24 classes is pitiful. Why, why, why would anybody apply and consider working for an outfit like this? |

No. That is now. I was on 6000 for 20 classes. |

This college sounds like it is a nightmare waiting to happen for any gullible Foreign Teacher who is reckless enough to accept a job there.
The relatively poor salary, the excessive teaching hours, the prison-like apartment, and the 'shared kitchen' would all sound alarm bells for me!
I would give this place a wide berth! |

also taian is the most boring place (except for taishan wich is great) that i have ever been. the food at the resturaunts sucked too. i was there for 2 days wich was too long. this is the only city in china i couldn't wait to leave, full of domestic tourists and stores that sold at tourist prices(the supermarkets were more expensive than qingdao). |
