I received an email today from EMB to say that I had qualified to be a NET and that my information was being forwarded to the schools. Finally something is happening (I hope!)

congratulations. i am still waiting to hear the same news. i was interviewed in march (brisbane) for the SNET and passed. last information from the EMB was that my qualifications have been checked and they are just about to seek out my referees (this was two weeks ago and my referees have not heard a thing). Can you tell me if they ring the referees or do they email them?? thank

If I were you I'd keep in contact with the EMB to make sure they are processing your case. The first year I did the interview I got no offer, which was really strange as their was a shortage of NETS. I suspect they misplaced my application, as they never asked me for documents regarding work experience after the interview. So I came back the next year for the interview again, and got a job no problems.

You are definitely qualified - just be patient you will be hearing something soon, I'm sure.

Just wait.
The EMB only sent out the list of current NETs wanting new schools last week. Once these NETs have been interviewed and signed new contracts, then the EMB will send out to the schools the list of newbies accepted into the NET program.
LWaiting is an important skill to learn when dealing with Chinese bureaucracy.
