I'm just trying to check on anyone's comments, if they would like to share them, regarding The Spanish Immersion School in Veracruz, Mexico. (the city of ~)

Has anyone been? Good Experience, I hope?

Also, if you have a suggestion on how to check the veracity of establishments such as these... any info would be appreciated.
THanks

You might want to start by posting in the Mexico forum. People in the know there would be better suited to tell you about the reliability.

Not easy when you're not there on the ground. The best way to check a school (my opinion) is by talking to current and former teachers. Ask the school if they could put you in touch with some.

Some posters, though, feel that current teachers may feel limited in what they can say to you. So take them with a grain of salt.

Another option is to talk to people currently in the city- PM any posters located there, and post anyplace you can looking for such people. If it's a big/well known school, people who live near will have ideas about it, whether they work there or not...

slds,
Justin

I agree about talking to the current teachers.

You could also try a google search for the school. First of all, does it have its own website? You could (sort of) judge its professionalism by the quality of the site. (For me, a website that is riddled with grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors is very off-putting, showing that the school just doesn't care enough to take the time to write well.) Also, if people have posted complaints about the school on other sites, a google search should unearth them. People are more likely to post complaints than praise, though, so if you don't find much that might be a good sign.

and that was a biggie for me in selecting them.
(actually, I don't recall seeing ONE error! )
The site is also huge, if you guys would like to check them out:
www.veracruzspanish.com
In my opinion, (and I'm very inexperienced at this) the site looked great.

I thought about calling the Palacio Municipal (city hall) but now it's the weekend...

I'm ready to buy my tickets before the prices go up, up, up!

Thanks for your replies!

Gather any opinions you can find - but if you can't find any just listen to your gut. It is only a job - and you can always find another one should there be a problem.

It is important to make the best decision you can - but don't stress over it too much.
