Man, is that ever true. But so is the reverse sometimes. have you ever had those brutally honest students that feel the need to point out your every shortcoming, whatever they may be?

Yes, I know I have a huge zit on the end of my nose - thanks for pointing it out....

What do you mean "why am I too fat/bald/skinny/old/ugly/wrinkled/whatever...?" - How do you even answer a question like that?

Um,I eat too much because I'm worried about my two million dollar's worth of investments back home

So is Yul Brynner from The King and I

I'm too mean to spend any of my two million dollar win on Tats on food.

I don't want to spend my two million dollar payout from stress at my last job on plastic surgery.

They will see you in a new light as they worship money in the main!

I think it is best to ignore both the good and bad appraisals really! If you take the compliments too seriously you could soon think you are suddenly God's Gift To China like many a geek before. Take the other extreme and believe all the negative stuff and you will soon have insecurity issues!

I don't think it's that good an idea to take compliments from strangers/non-close acquaintances too seriously...whichever country you are in. Much of the time they might be after something.

Best not to take yourself too seriously in China. Maybe you shouldn't always take China too seriously either!
