If your paracard or whatever your bank calls it doesn't have a chip in it you won't be able to use it after June 30th. It's worth checking with your branch to make sure they are issuing you with a new card. |

Either pop into your bank or ring them. Some banks are doing it automatically and others aren't.
I had hassle last month in the UK. I could take money out of ATMs but not use it in shops or supermarkets. The chip is a metal blob on your card. I guess no blob the machine can't read your card. |

dmb, as far as I know, you can't use foreign atm cards in shops or supermarkets anyways- or at least not in my experience. My parents tried to use their Canadian cards here and failed (in a restaurant) and I tried once or twice while abroad with my garanti para card. Not sure it's because of a lack of chip- maybe it's just not doable? |

Dmb, did you not know that after 14 February 2006 in Uk, as everyone using chip and PIN cards (Credit and Debit) now has to use their PIN to be sure they can pay for their goods.
BTW, dmb, I am handing Bab Alex's dog to you, please could you take care of him and return it to Baba Alex with my compliments.
It seems he failed to catch you.
