I'm doing a 2 or 3 stopover in Taiwan. Arrive on a Saturday early evening, and fly out on a Tuesday. I would appreciate some pointers.
For one, I am not that interested in Taipei, having already lived in several big Asian cities. What I'd love to see is some of Taiwan's beautiful coastal scenery. So, the question is -- what steps should I take upon arrival to get myself out of the airport to some coastal places, and then back to the airport on time a few days later to continue the rest of my flight? |

Followed your link to China is the future. - FUNNY! Too short.
Sorry I can't lead you to the mountains, I'll have to leave that to someone else.

you could hop on a bus to Hualien, which is a nice town on the east coast...stay in a hostel or hotel...then in the morning, take a bus, or rent a scooter and head into Taroko which is probably some of the most beautiful scenery you can find on the island...then head back to Taipei... |

I hope you're not arriving this Saturday as it's the start of Dragon Boat Festival and transportation will be insane... |
