Haven't gotten paid and I hear the companies tanking. I'm new, just came over no savings.

You resign with a resignation form available at your branch.
Don't worry about excuses. Just tell them an opportunity arose, and you're moving on.
What you need to be careful of is you're going to have all things taken out of your check at once.
Are you living in a Nova apartment? Are you using JMA?
To break it down, I'll give you an example. I knew of somebody about two years ago who resigned after a few weeks because of an opportunity at home, and when he received his paycheck while still in Japan, it was for a few thousand Yen.
Let's say you started work on May 1st.
Your paycheck on June 15th, if they still pay on the 15th would look something like this.
Salary - 250,000 Yen for May 1-31
Taken from that -
Taxes - Don't remember, but let's say 12,500 Yen, maybe more?
JMA - 22,500 Yen. This would be if it's 7500/month. You pay a month in advance on the insurance, so the reason for the triple payment would be for May and June to get you caught up, and then July to get you ahead. If you are using it, be sure to cancel it before the end of June if you are resigning.
Rent - 60,000 Yen
Salary advance - 40,000 Yen
That leaves you with 115,000 Yen in your first paycheck.
I think what happened to the guy I knew of, was he resigned so quickly, that they took the entire salary advance out of his paycheck right away, so in the above example he would've been left with 35,000 Yen.
Your contract probably says 30 days notice. You can give that, or less. I had a friend who told them on Friday night that it was his last day. He moved to another city for a different job that weekend.

Give as much notice as you can, but only 2 weeks notice is required. Many people quit NOVA. They will ask you the reason. You don't have to tell them anything, but why not. Just tell them that you're going home. Good luck with your opportunity at home. |

as the posters above have pointed out, giving notice is no problem. paying back the loan is your main problem. if you think you might want to work for nova in the future (eg. if you want to come back to japan and want to use nova as an easy way to get a visa) then it's best to give thirty days' notice. otherwise, it doesn't really matter how much notice you give. |

it depends. under normal circumstances, it would be unlikely if you left after only two months, although if your work record was excellent it might be possible. i think the question now would be whether there would be a nova to come back to...
not paying back the loan seems incredibly unwise. also, it may not even be possible: it will come out of your paycheck before any money is even deposited in the bank. |

I don't think that scenario is possible. They pay you in arrears on the 15th of each month, right? So if you're quitting on 15th July, that means you get your June salary on 15th July (actually it'll be the preceding Friday 13th as 15th is a Sunday) and your salary for your half month worked in July will be paid on 15th August. Both of those paychecks will be prepared with NOVA aware of your pending departure, so they'll have a full month's salary and half of one from which to recover the loan amount, which should easily be enough. |

they don't dock pay, although they only (of course) pay for the days worked. there is absolutely no way to get them to pay you earlier: you can't make a company with thousands of employees change its accounting system to suit you. |

If you are in a position where you can cancel your contract (Labour Standards Law Article 15), you must be paid within seven days and you have, at least in theory, the opportunity to have your moving back home costs paid by Nova. |
