They're performing at Kurucesme Arena, Istanbul on Saturday. I went to the Garage in April. They had a follow-up event there after the showing of the documentary Lennon vs. U.S. at the Istanbul Film Festival. (I failed to understand the connection) I paid 20 ytl to get in and 20 ytl for two bottles of 33cl Efes. There were so many people standing and there was this band called Elbow playing, nobody was listening, but applauding after each song, I thought they were c.rap. I asked somebody about the other band, I'm the Kloot. He said they were the same, so I left after 30 minutes having spent 40ytl. So, is it worth going to see Daft Punk on Saturday or is it a daft idea?

I saw Daft Punk around about 1997 too , excellent stuff. I shan't be going to this gig though.

I also went to the I am Kloot/Elbow gig and thought they were absolutely superb and I'm not even a fan of Elbow.

Thanks to everyone who expressed their opinion about Daft Punk. Reading between the lines, I gave it a miss, which saved me at least 100ytl. My special thanks to Baba Alex for correcting the name of the band 'I am Kloot', not 'I'm the Kloot'. Incidentally, I looked up the word Kloot, it is Dutch and apparently it means bollocks in English.

I was rather hoping that Liberace would make a comeback. Who are these musicians of whom you speak ?

They are a popular beat combo especially popular with the youth I hear.
