Hello,

Is there anyone on this forum who works for this school?
It's a low paying job (185,200 yen) but they offer a 7 month contract with two months off. I've been teaching in Korea and want to cycle in Japan but my South African passport makes it very difficult for me.

If you do have first-hand experience with this school, please give me an indication if the low salary is worth the time off? Or is the vacation time didvided up in such away that it makes any extended travel in Japan impossible?

Thanks...

We looking into this school...but I think that this is the school that wanted us to sing songs and play instruments over the phone, we were scared. I know nothing about the school BUT the pay is really low (and it looks like it has gone done in the past year...)

I can't believe anyone would consider working for that kind of money, especially with the Yen dropping like a stone.

I am not sure, but I think this is for ALT work. So, the '2 months off' is summer and winter vacations I believe.

I actually had an interview with them scheduled for today, but I canceled. Yeah, the singing over Skype thing scared me away as well, more so than the low pay.
If the interview involves singing and parading about, just imagine what you'll be doing at the actual job.

Thanks for your replies,

I guess the kind of person who would work for that kind of money is someone who really wants to travel more than work Very Happy Eventhough Japan is so expensive.

I was thinking about those days off and that would be really nice...let us know what kind of contract you decide on, I am curious to know if there are jobs that let you take of more time than most normal jobs...
