|
|
Hello,
I would like to go oversees to teach English. I am an experienced teacher however i do not have a teaching degree. Where is the best place to go and make money oversees? I would appreciate any opinions on this as I do not know where to go.
Thank you in advance |

China seems to be the #1 destination....and certainly is #1 with those that don't have a degree. |

You said you didn't have a teaching degree. Do you have a degree in any other subject?

If you're interested in making money, China will not be your 1st, 2nd or even third choice. However, denise has asked an important question. The places where you can make money have much tighter degree requirements.
Do you have a degree? |

Without knowing where you are presently located we cannot possibly identify an "oversees" location.

The search function may be of some help to you.

You can probably "make money" just about anywhere.
Did you have a particular amount you'd like to make? |

Hello
I guess I was not being clear.
I am currently in Toronto and I graduated from University of Toronto in 2005 with a Communication Specialist and a major in communication studies. I need to pay off my student loans so i am looking for a well paying job while oversees. I've heard about Korea the most, but nothing really concrete.
Thank you very much |

Sigh. More information needed, please. Just how much do you have to pay off every month? |

just for future reference, it's overseAs - like sea, ocean, you see.
maybe it was just a typo, but since you repeated it after it was pointed out, maybe not...
in any case, it'll increase your credibility as an English teacher abroad if you know that it's sea, not see... |

I had to pay of student loans, and made enough money to do so in Japan. However, how much money you save or can send home to pay for loans also depends on which city you live in, and what your lifestyle is like. You can live frugally and probably have enough money to pay loans in a handful of countries, such as Japan, Korea, China, and Middle-Eastern countries.
Before you make a decision, check exchange rates for that country. I know the Canadians and Americans are losing a lot of money with the yen-dollar exchange these days! ouch!! |

Korea is probably the easiest place to safe money with your credentials. Vietnam is another option, should be able to save $500 Cdn after getting settled in. |
