Here's a call to all expats to boycott recruiters. These agencies "spam" (for a lack of better term) forums flooding the highway with countless low grade positions.

Have you ever tried to find a job and become increasingly irritated by companies that post hundreds of jobs often repeating the same job?

Just say "No, I won't take it any more!"

Claim your ESL industry gosh darn it - apply to non-recruiter jobs today and avoid having your name added to the great lists of:

- "BURNT!"
- "OH SHIT!",
and
- "I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING TO ME!"

(In fact, just skip the ads as soon as you see a recruiters name in the email address for the thousandth time!)

Here! Here!
Cool

Certainly people who don't want to deal with recruiters should avoid them. I am sure that the recruiters will be happy not to have to spend time working with people who don't trust them.

Personally though if the recruiter is upfront with the fact that they are a recruiter then I don't have a problem with that. You know who they are and if you don't want to deal with them then you can do as suggested here and just skip their ads.

To me the problem is the recruiters who are not forthcoming with the fact that they are recruiters and post jobs in the name of the school.

I think that your suggestion may be counter productive as it would encourage people to contact these 'schools' only to find out too late that they are dealing with a recruiter.

You're probably right. It's just a little frustrating to search for a job only to find out it's from the same recruiter...again.

Most recruiters are up front about being recruiters though. The problem is in the details...that are usually not transparent and preceded by explanations after the fact.

If a person is comfortable with recruiters, I guess that's great - they have to earn a living too. But, in my experience (not long - about 3 years), the jobs I've enjoyed have been sourced myself without a recruiter.

Happy hunting all.
