I�ve heard rumors of transportation madness occurring in Peru, esp. Lima, around 7-28 and 7-29, e.g. bus fares double, roads are clogged, etc. Any truth to this? Is this just a bad weekend to travel in Peru?

It's Independence Day weekend. And fares don't double, they triple.

And buses get booked up in advance as the whole country moves some place else where accommodation costs have doubled too....
