wrong act... inappropriate usage...

Freedom of Information supposedly gives us access to information about what the government is doing.

You mean 'privacy act.'

The term Privacy Act is mostly used in the land of uncle Sam, Canada, and Australia.
In UK, the act is knows as Data Protection Act, which gives you the right to know what information is held about you, and sets out rules to make sure that this information is handled properly., and not distributed to any third party (except under certain anti-terrorist act created recently by uncles Sam and Tony).

Anyway, regardless of which terminolgy to use, in Saudi Arabia there is no 'Information/data/Privacy Act' at all, and your personal information is not protected at any government or private organization.

I got the result from them about a week later which was incidentally sent to not only me, but the three other unlucky (or lucky?) candidates who also failed as it had their email addresses in clear view for me to see which I thought a bit unprofessional.

Based on this [non] interview, I don't think I'll ever be actually trying to get an interview there in the future! The place reaked of unprofessionalism from beginning to end.

Unprofessional? UoH? NEVER!!

They didn't even hear you when you said at interview that you hadn't applied; you see, that is a large part of their problem, they don't listen or want to listen to anyone.

I would point out here that to the best of my knowledge, AF have nothing more to do with UoH, apart maybe from honouring old contractual obligations.

What I strongly suspect happened in your case is this:

A certain person who used to teach in Hail, had built up a database of teachers that she had compiled over the years, with a view to setting up a recruitment agency. She sold this database to certain people in the college administration, who are so desperate that they are actually trying to hire by simply cold-calling people. I should point out one more factor, also. A senior person in Hail is also, I believe, associated with the agency that has replaced AF, and he makes money from the college by hiring.

Of course, the best way to cash in on such a recruitment racket is to ensure that everyone already working there is either fired or driven out, and in some cases maybe even rehired, but with a hefty fee being charged to the college in respect of that hire.

This, many believe, is what has actually been happening in Hail, and why so many people were let go or forced to go. The good old reliable explanation: a scam!! Nothing else could possibly explain the inordinate levels of apparent incompetence there.

As of today, the beginning of the first half of the summer school term, the reality sank in hard. 75% of the old hands have permanently left Saudi.

The interview process is a mess, mostly the Subject Coordinators and the
two department heads. However, the final selection is left to the Desert Smail.

Mostly they are looking for non-questioning people, no thinking preferred.

There are some very lively new contracts coming from Al-Falak as of 1 July. They have a good selection of Saudi assignments.

I hear that the summer school has not gone too well. No students wanted to do it so the UoH is paying 3 teachers to sit around and do nothing !

The central reason for no attendance at summer school is, very few students flunked. When the Desert Smail ordered a retake of the end of term finals he also lowered the pass score.

Nothing like playing on the PC and collecting a pay check for a resume entry.

I thought you had been deported from Hail. Just shows that we should not believe the rumours.

Ah, the stuff of bored minds....rumors.

Recently PMU sent down their vice rector and did some major recruiting at Hail. Looks like all of the Al-Falak people have decided to go to PMU.

Nice place PMU, especially the two story apartment they offered.

New people on the block: Premier Recruiting. Well worth sending a CV to.

^ Who is Premier Recruting recruiting for? PMU or UOH?

Who is currently recruiting for UOH?
Who is currently recruting for PMU?

Thanks.

P.S. Where are the ads for UOH for PMU? Haven't seen a UOH ad in a long long time on any site, except for their webpage. As for PMU, there was an ad by Al Falak just recently on this site, which said they were recruiting for a university in Khobar, which by all accounts, is PMU.

Al-Falak was indeed recruiting for PMU until 10 July. They lost their contract with PMU. All submissions from Alka-Flatulance were rejected.

Premier Recruiting took over the PMU contract and is placing people successfully.

UOH and Al-Patooy ended months ago. UOH started its own recruiting effort via an individual.

Most of the old Aflak teacher corps has left UOH and found its way to PMU.
