i am sure you had good intentions for this thread, but seriously, "but it is diectly linked to everyone"?
yes, trafficking in people is a terrible crime and the victims suffer greatly, but comparing what they have to go through to that of some english teacher who has a few problems at work is very, very disrespectful towards the real trafficking victims.
and could you please let me know how i am directly linked to people trafficking?

First off when you hear your teacher buddy who has unscrupulous morals talking about his night having fun with prostitutes you should think harder about saying oh whatever some guy does in his off time is up to him....

First of all prostitution is illegal in indonesia and second of all it's most likely that the girl has some sort of debt bond and was forced into it. So by just laughing at the terrible morals of your buddy you are ignoring the fact that some woman is probably having to do these things because she's been forced into the blackmarket sex industry.

So yes trafficking in persons is linked to everyone, because if we turn the other way and ignore it, it will just continue to happen that's what i mean by it is linked to everyone.

no, i shouldn't, and won't think harder about it....what my " teacher buddy" chooses to do on his time off is up to him....if he wants to sit in the middle of a crowded road and bash his kneecaps with a sledgehammer on his time off, then he can do it...and sadly, if he chooses to have sex with a prostitute that may have been forced into the industry during his "off time", that is up to him as well

...i'm not sure what your real point to this thread is......do you think you are educating anyone here about this already well documented and well known problem? yes, its a terrible problem, yes, its widespread in this country.
please, don't start new threads telling everyone that illegal logging is bad and then post some link to where we can read an article that says yes, illegal logging is bad.
or a thread that tells us that bird flu can kill you and some link that leads us to an article that finally confirms for us that bird flu can kill you.

in closing, i tip my hat to you 3e. you obviously feel strongly about the lives of those involved/ victimized by people trafficking. but as i have stated before, my previous post was made in reference to your original comparison between a teacher who had housing issues and such and the real victims of trafficking. you then deleted those ridiculous comments and have now returned with the same topic but a different scenario. listen, everyone already knows about the problem as well as numerous other problems here and everywhere else for that matter. posting links to government articles on an esl forum does not help to solve a problem that everyone is already fully aware of.

STOP COMPARING PEOPLE WHO COME HERE UNDER THEIR OWN FREE WILL AND CAN AFFORD TO LEAVE IF THE SITUATION GETS "BAD" ENOUGH, TO THOSE WHO GET RAPED NIGHTLY IN A PLACE THEY NEVER WANTED TO COME TO IN THE FIRST PLACE
