Ulatina in San Pedro would be a good place to send your resume.

A new bimester will begin in a week and many teachers are leaving at this time. All for different reasons, but not anything negative at the university.

The English Speaking Centre at the university offers morning and night intensives, nighttime and Saturday regular integrated, Conversation and Pronunciation classes. the pay is 4,400 per hour, which i believe is one of the highest pays in CR.

or send me an email if you have questions about Ulatina.
cheers

Ole,

Are you serious? Stop wasting your time at that place. You should at least be able to get 3000 colons per hour.

I'm serious. But, it's not that bad, since I'm not teaching much business what I earn is actually 2000 colones an hour and not 4400 minus bus, food, camel rides and the entrance fee to the amusement park. The businesses I do teach pays much better. That being said, I do agree with you, but it's not so damn easy getting decent jobs here as a non-native speaker.

It probably has to do with how strong your accent is. I know that Pro-English, at different times, has had an Italian, a Hungarian couple, and a German working for them. But none of them had strong accents.

Yes, there are a lot of costs involved in teaching Business English sometimes. That is why it is key to get work that does not require much travelling for you. Of course, you often have to take what your employer gives you. So, that is why it is important to live in an area where there is a lot of work at companies: Heredia, Alajuela, San Jose, or points in between.
