Having lived in BKK for 4 years and now working elsewhere, i just wondered what salaries were like for you guys working in BKK. What's the standard salary for the 9-5, 20 periods a week school there?
When i first started it was 25,000 a month and when i left i was at Chulalongkorn Uni so things were a little better! Would love to know the going rate! Have things improved?
Enjoy the weekend! |

Try The Bell Institute,
40000 plus eight weeks holiday and full medical insurance. You do need a BA and a TESL cert. |

Yes, salaries have improved and are continuing to improve. This is especially true in the private sector. If you have a legitimate degree, don't be hesitant about negotiating for a higher salary regardless of what is initially offered you. There is a huge demand for professional teachers here now and some employers are waking up to the realization that they have to pay more to get more when it comes to a teacher. Good luck! |

Given the current exchange rates 30 - 40k baht is pretty much the same as pre-crisis (1997) rates. Not really an improvement, especially not that the cost of living is much higher. |
