While looking at various job ads, I have come across a few that ask for the usual details-C.V. etc but also "expected salary". How does one approach this? I would be inclined to ignore this but some ads say all questions/criteria must be addressed or the application won't be considered. Please advise me. Thanks |

It'll help considerably if you tell us WHERE you are looking to teach. Salary ranges vary considerably by parts of the world. |

OK. Probably someone can give you an idea of a normal range of pay in those areas.
On applications, I would consider putting some small range reflecting, say, the top 30% of the norm. This gives both you and the school a bit of space to negotiate, based on details of the job, like hours/split shifts/travel time & expenses, etc. For example if you were a newbie going to Prague, I'd suggest putting something like 18-21,000/monthly, after taxes.
If you don't get quick responses here re: pay ranges for those areas, you might try the country forums. |
