Working at Nova is even better than what Im doing. Making 400.000 yen a month workign at two unis in Thailand. Its better to work 40 hours a week at Nova to make 300.000 even though the cost of a beer in Japan is about 5 times more than Patayya. I mean why would you think of working anywhere else than Nova.

Wow! That is a lot of money, and the cost of living is so low in Thailand! I am going to gather a bunch of my friends at Nova and we are going to Thailand to get university jobs!
Since the cost of living in Japan is so expensive and so cheap in Thailand, I think all English teachers should consider coming with us to Thailand Exclamation

Ok ! Count me in - except I can only come if I can work for x3 unis in Thailand for about 30 hours a week and get paid 500 or 600,000 yen because you just can`t do that with NOVA ... Cool

I dont think you should come along because with an MA in TESOl you would find the job really boring. All I do is give out crossword puzzles and wordshearches and worksheets that I printed off the internet then I sit back and check out which girls are hot and try and chat to them.
Most teachers in Thailand are like that not like the ones in Japan that actually care how to teach this is a pen.
Ok I havent been totally honest with the truth becasue the 400.000 yen is in Thai Money and it is made from two uni jobs and then I work nights as a bouncer but in total I only work about 25 bhours a week.
So I think you should stick to Nova I recommend the Man to Man center there in Osaka. You have to be tuff to survive in thai because there are lots of scammers onthe street etc.. even the girls are scammers so if you aint touht like m stick to Nova. But if you come over and I see you eating from a 20 bhat food stall Ill hook you up with a j.o.b.

Here's a chance for NOVA to grab some students. Can't use the gov't reimbursement scheme, however. Wink

From the Japan Times:
Japan air traffic controllers will have to pass English test every three years:

You are right about that. And I dont even have a TESFL or MA TFL or anyof that waste of time university rubbish.
I mean in Japan you need a PHD to teach, This is a Pen.
But in Thailand you dont even need an MA to work at a university all you need is a TEFL or a CELTA and anyone with even half a brain, people coined from weak sperm or stupid people know you can buy one so easily in Thai.
The only thing I miss about Japan is Sushiro.
And the girls with short pin stripe pants, and leggings and the other girls
with black leggings with a big of lace at the bottom.
The sad thing here is that chicks still think bell bottoms are still hip along with whorish platform shoes.

You also need 30,000 yen. Don't forget Sekiguchi's cut.

Your account of working in Thailand sounds about as credible as the seven "girlfriends" I had last time I was on holiday there telling me I was handsome and they really didn't want any money form me. Rolling Eyes

Your other post about Thailand sound so tempting! Like I have a master's degree and I don't make half of what you make, and the cost of living is so high here in Japan. However this post is scary. You sound like you are as tough as nails. Probably grown men tremble in fear at the sound of your name. I'm just a slender blond with a firm body. Is Thailand too dangerous for someone like me Question

I had an argument with the girlfriend last night and was having a really miserable day. But after reading Tiger-chan's hillarious posts I cheered right up. Please don`t ban him, everyone needs a little humour in their lives!

it probably is lady. All the western women in Pattayya are thought of as whores by the western men and sleazed on by the thais.
Anyway it has its bad points but is no worse than Kabukicho.
You guys can stay in Japan with your blinkers on happy with your 250.000 yen and maybe 10.000 yen from privates and just managing to scrape by paying student loans having enough money for one or two namas at the hub but some people are more ambitious. Even though Im only making 400.000 yen in PPP it is about 2 million in Yen so compared to most of you no-hoper English teachers Im kicking arse here.
Im even going to get a loan soon and put some of my savings 300.000 yen a month in real estate.
SO in 10 years when the yen has about as much money as the zimbabwean currency and you are getting 200.000 yen working 5 days at intercrack nova or wherever sweatshop conditions and wages prevail, Ill be managing luxury serviced apartments for the expat community in pattay.

Once again you write a convincing post! Having just graduated from a University with a master's degree, I need to make more money! Could you please answer my question on this thread so other western women like me who want to make more money can also know the facts? Would Thailand be safe for a woman like me Question A blond slender woman with a firm body. Are there many western women in Thailand like here.

Fisrst off....to 'big john dud', roomers is spelled RUMORS!
Second. Why do people keep responding to this guy's posts? Why?
Some of the ideas expressed here are purely worthless and disgusting, just like the people who post them.
Now, I'm sure this post will be deleted......makes no sense!
