				| hi all , thanks for the info. Your a great bunch in here! I'm just a little frustrated as Im in a hotel with no kitchen and I can't cook anything, not even a cup of tea lol.
If I had a kitchen I would happily cook you all a nice Thai dinner!
Other than the food, its ok here, just taking a bit of getting used too.
They have their ways and its their country lol
I'm just an alien passing thru haha. Work life is a challenge also, lots of quirky stuff to negotiate around and the whole I'm a man, your a woman, hear me roar and shut up bit is amusing! haha.
Other than that, life is wonderful, just need some thai food and I'm happy.
Oh on a positive note, did find a cute bar off that walking street that has cheep beer and good music. Has anyone seen that singer guitarist, that has long hair and a spider tatoo on his arm. He can't stand up straight though, but is amazing to listen too.
 Cheers
and thanks heaps for the info

				| I was in Carre foure or however you spell it yesterday and they are selling Thai green and red curry paste in little sachets for about 1.70ytl. You can pick up the coconut milk and the veggies and beef there, aswell. They have a pretty good selection of Asian food stuffs these days. | |

				| Yes thats it, opposite the park, the street has like ton of restaurants, ask for Dubb, the touts will point it out for you.
It is not pricey pricey but it ain't a Taksim burger either. Dinner for two around 50 YTL.

 Enjoy.

				| The Indian rest. in Sultanahmet is called Dubb.
The Little Asian Indian Rest., behind the Marmara Hotel on Akyol Cad. is quite good, and has a great dahl.

Pera Thai is actually quite close to Lokal.

From the Tunel, you will see a guitar store on your left, walk up that st. and it will automatically veer left, keep following it and at the end is Pera Thai.

Before Per. Tha. on the right you will se a Mexican place: Caliente.

Have no idea of Caliente, as I've never been there b4.

Lokal is damn good. But it's sad the way you pay so much and get the usual pitiful Turkish (small) portions.

				| yes, dubb is fabulous!!!!!!!!! their lassis are great too. a main course is about 22 ytl, then there's rice a few ytl, then a naan, a few ytl again, and a drink. so it's hard to get out of there for under 35 ytl. but for a splash out, it's sooooooo good.
dont bother with those two indian restuarants in cihangir, taj mahal and little indian (i think??), theyre really not good.

				| Taj closed about two years ago. Pity, they had a great patio.
little Asian Ind... isnt' that bad. You get bigger portions than normal and you pay less than normal. Works for me.

 But yes Dubb is wonderful.

				| I found the Indian place in Sultan Ahmet to be very bland. I could out cook them any day. | |

				| Lokal and Pera Thai have the same owner along with 360 on the top floor of the Mısır apartment building. Lokal opened first, but does anyone remember when they had really good homemade pesto and bread as an ikram?? About 3yrs ago...It used to be a whole lot wierder with transformers and funky bits n pieces littered around the room...
I checked all the posts and unless I missed it, no one has mentioned the Tandoori Restaurant in Besiktas/Macka. It's on Spor Caddesi up towards Macka Park. Always empty, but very, very tasty.
