OK, I've done my CELTA, got to Zielona Gora, traipsed round all the schools, had a few interviews and decided on the job I want. But what's the pay?
I'll be teaching 20 hours a week and I'll be taking home 3000zl per month after tax and insurance. This works out around 35zl per hour net.
I've got no previous teaching experience, but there are plenty of other positives, such as the fact I'm planning to stay here for years.
Is that about right, or am I selling myself short? |

3000/mo for 20 hours work is pretty darn good, IMO. I just finished a contract in Gdansk and was making about 2500/mo for similar hours, but I think this is because Gdansk is a more desireable location than Zielona Gora.
How do you like it there? Is there any nightlife? I can judge by that lack of replies to your other post that there aren't many expats. Do you like being one of very few expats there?? |

I love it here. I've got two kids under 5 so night life generally consists of giving them a bath and putting them to bed. There are a few good bars and a cinema. It would be nice to have a few other expats around but most of the schools where I had interviews claimed to have at least one native teacher but I've yet to meet any. It's not Krakow, that's for sure but there's enough to keep me happy. |

yeah, I concur with Shake, that's pretty good for 20 hours a week. |
