They have three campuses, one in Nanjing itself and the other two about an hour from Nanjing in the middle of nowhere. Most foreign teachers get placed at one of the two out of town campuses. So you will feel very isolated. But they do have a lot of foreign teachers, about 30 and they want more.
Classes are big, but each class is only one period of 45 minutes. Basically you are there to entertain. But on a good note you only have 14 classes a week. If you can handle living out in the sticks then this may be the job for you. |

Hi, this is my first post on this forum. I have previously taught at JUFE and the campus was somewhat out of the way as well. However there was a large university 'community' based around the campus with lots of little shops, supermarkets, and a vegetable market as well. Having never visited other Uni campuses, would this also be the case for the 2 more remote NUFE campuses?
Also, if I were posted at one of the campuses out of town, would I be required to regularly travel to the inner city campus to teach?
I'm basically doing some background research at the moment, as I'm trying to decide on some places to make application to, for teaching positions commencing in the semester starting early next year.
Any advice or inside information on living and teaching in Nanjing is appreciated.
BTW - I've visited Nanjing before, but it was a few years ago, I'm sure a lot has changed since then. |
