What is the latest I should take the CELTA in order find Fall semester employment abroad? August?

I had planned to take to the course in August, but now my current job situation might not allow me to take it until September. My income is fixed, so I can't linger for a few months without work (in the winter months). Thanks! |

				| Well, in October there will be openings at schools where the teachers left after a month or where nobody would accept a job in the first place... |

Language schools that have business English clients hire year-round. There are always openings.

It really depends on where you want to teach. When I taught in Poland, the academic year started in October and therefore, most English schools opened then.

Otherwise, like what Denise said, many schools hire year-round--they did in Germany when I was there, and they do here in Australia.

Also, many schools will hire you before you get your CELTA as long as you have it in the works.

Good luck! |

Exactly. I lined up a job in Asia while taking the course and I flew off to the new job the morning after I completed my CELTA. |
