Don't know much about Chongqing, but.....
If you accept any of those pathetically low paying jobs you are encouraging the schools to keep salaries low. |
If you think that offer is low, check out the typical latest offers in Beijing.
How's this for a Whopping Chinese salary.

That offer makes me feel proud that I'll be making the big bucks with my 3-year 30K USD, MA Ed TESOL degree.
These types of offers are becoming more common these days. |

| Chongqing has no nightlife or good expat community. |
That certainly seems a funny thing to say, unless it was meant to be ironic. The expat community in Chongqing are quite community spirited, and Chongqing is certainly starting to give certain biblical cities that fell a run for their money in the hedonism stakes. Funny one moment, scary the next! Go find the pub in the middle of town run by the expat Canadian for a start.
What is it with these 4000RMB jobs that keep getting thrown around? Go and get more money in Chongqing while you are at it.
Ironically I myself am coming to Chengdu, and do not even live in Chongqing City proper - what a confusing world we live in.
Good luck, and don't forget that as far as Western China goes, Chongqing has enough money to allow a pretty fair milking if you get into the thick of things there. Go forth and find! |
