Does any know of the Winpenny School in Mexico City? They have advertised for elementary school teachers, but I can't seem to find much info on them. Anyone got any info? And what about the area of Cuajimalpa?
Thanks |

Yes, I found that their website didn't have too much information. Judging by the pictures, it looks fairly new. How' British' it is I'm not sure, they don't seem to be affiliated to the British Council or follow the British curriculum, and the money on offer is nowhere near what the other big three British schools offer. Probably best to do further research... |

Hi Jonny, I worked in Cuajimalpa until July last year, it is a 50 minute trip by bus from Chapultepec via Avenida Reforma. There are a lot of private high schools in that area. It gets cold up there, because it is higher up in the mountains, but one benefit of the altitude is that it is above the pollution cloud for most of the day. You can find relatively cheap rental apartments up there, but you would need a car if you wanted any kind of mobility. If you have any specific questions feel free to PM me. |

"Winpenny"??? That may not dredge up good visuals, especially the "penny" part when listened to through Spanish language ears..... |

I constantly see adverts for this private school, but no one seems to talk about it on the board. I've been out to Santa Fe mall once. It seems like it would be a trek to get out there, if one didn't live in the area. --And it looked rather expensive to have a residence out there.
Does anyone have any experience with this school?
Like I said, I've seen many ads on Craig's List for positions out there.
Is the turn-over so high that they constantly need replacement teachers?

It's not unheard of in Mexico for schools to include words like "British" or "American" in their names, but often that doesn't mean much in terms of affiliations or connections with schools in the UK or the US. |
