Hello all,
I was just wondering if there were any interns out there with Language Link and what they thought of the program so far. I will be going to Moscow in August to start my Internship and would like a little insider information. |

Actually I did get a few emails about the internship and so far, people seemed happy with it. There are always people who are unpleased and I take their criticism with a grain of salt, but so far I feel pretty good about my decision. |

Only homeless people and babushki with dachas to grow food can live on $500 (esp. in Moscow). If you want to live in poverty, you can do that in your home state. |

Hi Lex,
I worked for LL in Ufa -- not as you are planning, but as a full time teacher. I can speak about this one site and none other --- I worked double my contract hours for two and a half months and was never paid for this extra time and my last month's salary was never paid as I would not renew my contract --- the owner added 10 hours to it and reduced the salary by $50. When I complained, she could not understand my complaint at all.
I have taught in Russia for five years and the story is the same --- if you don't renew your contract with them or they decide that after nine or twelve months they can do OK without you -- no final salary and with the worst and sometimes dumbest reasons. |
