JWBHOMER: I suggest YOU check some things out too:

Relying on Wikipedia is a laugh. In fact, the link that "eclectic" provides is a link that he obviously didn't check out himself. Wikipedia actually calls it a "disambiguity link" because the spelling is either wrong or points to too many possibilities.

Check out the correct Wikipedia link with the correct spelling:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahmedabad

Note to "eclectic": The spelling Ahmedabad is the anglicized spelling you'll actually see used in -- of all places -- Ahmedabad itself as well as in official Indian information and newspapers.

Please spell the city correctly on your lonely hearts letter's envelope when applying for your mail-order Muslim Indian wife. Otherwise it will be sent to Afghanistan, Pakistan, or Iran instead of India. Actually, you'd have much better luck in Afghanistan, Pakistan, or Iran instead of India. Very Happy

Oh, I don't know. Maybe it would be because you already snidely chastised somebody who told you your original spelling was wrong??

You obviously "cared" enough to try to zing Homer. But that backfired miserably. Your spelling Ahmadabad might be in an American dictionary. Yet it's not the spelling used in India by Indians. You can find the placenames Peking and Djakarta in lots of dictionaries, too, but I'd advise against their use.

Accusing someone of an incorrect SPELLING is not the same as advising them against the use of that word. You are always squirming out of your words to desperately make a point. Henry, I have catered to your wayward instigations far longer than anyone else would, answering your questions from how I dress to if I drink alcohol to how to spell certain words, to the usages of those words. It has been good fun, mate, but now I'll leave you to educate someone else. Cheers. Very Happy

That was the OP's title for his thread. I think the last "laugh" is on him. Where will he turn up next? Cool

Perhaps he'll turn up in "Ahmadabad". Trust a raving loony to look for a Muslim girl in India!

Perhaps eclectic would do better in Jedda or Riyadh or Kabul or Lahore, places that are pretty close to 100% Muslim. Given his proclivities, Lahore might be an apt choice! Laughing
